About Dr. Ben Buchanan

Dr. Ben Buchanan is a board-certified equine internist and criticalist with more than two decades of experience in referral medicine, emergency care, practice leadership, and veterinary education. As CEO of Brazos Valley Equine Hospitals, he leads a team dedicated to advancing equine health through exceptional patient care, mentorship, and innovation.

Dr. Buchanan is a frequent national speaker and author whose interests include equine endocrinology, infectious disease, critical care, rehabilitation, and emerging technologies in animal health. He is also the founder of Biophage, a company focused on developing bacteriophage-based solutions for veterinary medicine.

Through clinical practice, education, research, and entrepreneurship, his mission is to help veterinarians, horse owners, and industry partners improve outcomes and advance the future of animal health.
